The Ontario government is revolutionizing home energy efficiency with the launch of the Home Renovation Savings Program, part of a historic $10.9 billion investment in energy efficiency over the next 12 years. This initiative represents the largest energy efficiency program in Canadian history, providing significant financial relief to homeowners and small businesses across the province. Unprecedented Savings and Energy Efficiency
Starting January 28, 2025, Ontarians can take advantage of rebates of up to 30% on various home energy upgrades. This program aims to make energy-efficient home improvements more accessible, thereby helping homeowners reduce their energy bills and increase the value of their properties.

Expanded Eligibility and Benefits
The Affordable Energy Act, effective December 4, 2024, has broadened the eligibility criteria. Unlike previous programs limited to homes with electric heating, the new initiative also includes homes heated by propane and oil. This change ensures that more Ontarians can benefit from energy-efficient upgrades.
Flexible Options for Homeowners
The program offers flexible options for both single and bundled upgrades. Homeowners can either undergo a home energy assessment, which provides $600 back, or opt for single upgrades without the assessment. Bundling upgrades leads to greater savings and efficiency.

Political and Economic Statements

Support for Small Businesses and Communities
The program also extends benefits to small businesses through the expanded Peak Perks program. Businesses can earn $75 for enrolling and $20 annually for each smart thermostat linked to air conditioning or heat pumps. Additionally, the province will continue to support 12 Save on Energy programs, benefiting municipalities, the agricultural sector, and First Nations communities.
